The proposed Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. spinoff is back on. ABC has given a pilot order to Marvel’s Most Wanted, a drama project starring Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. standouts Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood and revolving around their respective characters Barbara “Bobbi” Morse, aka Mockingbird, and Lance Hunter.

The drama had been developed quietly last season by S.H.I.E.L.D. executive producer Jeffrey Bell and co-executive producer Paul Zbyszewski. ABC put the breaks on the project in early May, just before the upfronts.

I hear the drama has since been redeveloped with a new direction for the two characters that all parties are excited about. It is unclear whether the project will be considered a S.H.I.E.L.D. spinoff or not but I hear it will film a standalone pilot, much like the CW did with the Arrow offshoot The Flash. I hear that will likely not happen right away, and the new pilot, first reported by Variety, may shoot during the regular pilot season in early 2016.

S.H.I.E.L.D. fans had been divided by the idea for a Mockingbird-Lance spinoff, and there had been some backlash to the idea of taking some of the strongest new characters on S.H.I.E.L.D. away from the mothership series.

Marvel’s Most Wanted is looking to join ABC/Marvel’s S.H.I.E.L.D., which is returning for a third season, and Agent Carter, which again will bridged S.H.I.E.L.D.’s half-seasons with its second installment.

ABC and Marvel also are secretly working on a potential series with John Ridley.

Palicki came aboard the series in its second season as Bobbi Morse (superhero name: Mockingbird), and has appeared in six episodes so far.

She’ll next appear on March 3 when the series comes back for the second half of Season 2 with the episode “Aftershocks.”

The episode will find Skye’s father Cal (Kyle MacLachlan) seeking retribution against Director Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) for stealing his revenge against Whitehall. In the meantime, Palicki’s Bobbi and Alphonso “Mack” Mackenzie (Henry Simmons) begin the next phase of a plan which seems to have grave repercussions for Coulson and his team.

The series recently cast “The Sopranos” and “Sons of Anarchy” star Drea de Matteo, who’ll play “gifted individual” Karla Faye Gideon; and Edward James Olmos, who’ll portray Robert Gonzales, whose debut on the series is said to bring “massive repercussions” for Coulson and his team.

Actor, writer, and director Brian Klugman sold his literary-themed directorial debut The Words to CBS Films out of Sundance. Now he’s set his next drama about a writer navigating life and relationships, which he’ll again work in front of and behind the camera. Baby, Baby, Baby tracks the relationship between two mismatched people who try to move past their baggage to make their love work. Klugman stars as a writer of short stories living in LA whose mind wanders into fantasy asides starring famous people reflecting the state of his relationship. Adrianne Palicki (G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Friday Night Lights) and Michaela Conlin (Bones, The Lincoln Lawyer) star as the two women in his life, with Conlin playing Klugman’s ex-girlfriend and Palicki as the painter he moves on with.

Film is produced by Bobby Bauer (Waitress), who met Klugman when the multihyphenate acted on his Starz comedy Head Case. Klugman in turn recruited Conlin after working with her on Bones, which she’s a series regular on, when he did a 10-episode arc on the show. Also featured in the pic are James Roday, Kelsey Grammer, and Kelly McCreary who round out the cast along with a number of celebrity cameos that are being kept under wraps. Baby, Baby, Baby shot for 22 days on location in LA and will feature music by Rilo Kiley’s Blake Sennett. Cassidy Lunnen is also producer on the Uncle Jack, LLC and Stamper Lumber Company production. Klugman is repped by Pakula/King & Associates, Brillstein Entertainment Partners, and Resolution. Palicki is repped by WME and Anonymous Content. Conlin is repped by Evolution Entertainment.

Courteney Cox, Winona Ryder, John Lithgow and former Friday Night Lights stars Adrianne Palicki, Jesse Plemons and Zach Gilford will appear in the second season of Drunk History.

The Comedy Central series created by Derek Waters and produced Will Ferrell sees intoxicated celebrity narrators such as Jen Kirkman and Paget Brewster recall dubious historical events.

Season two of Drunk History will feature Lithgow playing George Washington, while Ryder is set to play the wife of Benedict Arnold (Chris Parnell).

Arrested Development cast members David Cross, Alia Shawkat and Tony Hale will all appear in Drunk History, as will Patton Oswalt, Terry Crews, Johnny Knoxville, Jason Momoa and ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic.

Past narrators Kirkman and Brewster are back as well.

Drunk History creator Waters evoked Friday Night Lights when speaking to Entertainment Weekly about this season’s guests: “Casting season two, I had one thing in mind – to keep clear eyes and a full heart so I wouldn’t lose.

“I was lucky enough to get several cast members from Friday Night Lights as well as the Hollywood Hall of Fame of my favorite dream actors to work with, no matter what their IMDb star meter is.”

Drunk History returns on July 1 at 10pm on Comedy Central in the US.

Please note it has not been confirmed as of this time if Adrianne will be a part of season two yet!

Two weeks into its run, El Rey Network‘s first original scripted series, From Dusk Till Dawn, has been picked up for a 13-episode second season. Because El Rey — available on Comcast, DirecTV and Time Warner Cable — is an ustart, it is not yet measured by Nielsen, so no ratings data for the show is available. But From Dusk Till Dawn has been bringing in coin from distribution pacts, including a deal with Netflix, which carries the series in key international El-Rey-Network (1)territories and is on board for Season 2, and a DVD/EST agreement with eOne for the U.S. and Canada, which makes From Dusk Till Dawn episodes available on Amazon, iTunes, Sony Playstation, Xbox, Vudu, Google Play, Cinemanow, Blackberry and Target Ticket after their El Rey premiere. “As the television landscape becomes even more crowded, it’s important for El Rey Network to have a recurring and memorable franchise that speaks to our audience and allows us to break away from the noise of all the competition,” El Rey vice chair Scott Sassa said. “From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series is most certainly that kind of property and we are thrilled with the response from our affiliate partners, advertisers, viewers and the international community.”

From Dusk Till Dawn is based on the cult classic film of the same name by El Rey co-founder Robert Rodriguez, who created the series and directed four of the first season’s installments. “This is a truly unique property and one that has really resonated for viewers,” he said. “It has been a joy to bring these characters back to life and have the opportunity to take our storytelling to a whole new place.” From Dusk Till Dawn will be followed by El Rey’s second scripted series, action drama Matador, which is in production.

From Dusk Till Dawn’s international cast includes: D.J. Cotrona, Zane Holtz, Jesse Garcia, Eiza González, Wilmer Valderrama, Adrianne Palicki, Jake Busey, Don Johnson, Madison Davenport, Lane Garrison, Robert Patrick, and Brandon Soo Hoo. From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series is an El Rey Network production in association with Rodriguez International Pictures, FactoryMade Ventures and Miramax. Executive producers are Robert Rodriguez, Carlos Coto (who is also showrunner) and FactoryMade Ventures and El Rey Network co-founders John Fogelman and Cristina Patwa. Diego Gutierrez is writer and co-executive producer.
